I.D.E.A.S.

I.D.E.A.S. is a proactive student/non-profit organization started to inspire and promote environmental sustainability on campuses and offer innovative solutions through Research (R&D), hands-on Action, and Environmental Awareness.

We offer service learning opportunities focusing on environmental stewardship and conservation, as well as interactive strategies used to raise awareness about environmental concerns. In addition, I.D.E.A.S. also advocates and performs scientific research and experimentation in advanced biofuels, energy efficiency and renewable sources of energy.

Furthermore, I.D.E.A.S. provides the initiatives that links interested students with issues effecting our local environment and surrounding communities.

Chris Castro & Henry Harding, co-founders of I.D.E.A.S., are awarded a position at the U.S. Department of energy: Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy. They will be helping formulate the DOE Student Ambassador platform and create a successful university outreach program for the DOE. May 2010

I.D.E.A.S. MIAMI / Shake-a-Leg ISLAND Clean-up

The Miami chapter partners with Shake-a-Leg to clean the Dinner Key Islands off Coconut Grove. This initiative has continued every month since December 2009 to help rid our coastlines of debris and get others involved with interesting environmental events. 4/29/2010

I.D.E.A.S. gets accepted to the 2010 Clinton Global Initiative University (CGIU)

With only 1300 young progressives from across the globe accepted to this prestigious university, 6 executives in I.D.E.A.S. had the opportunity to attemd and had the incredible chance to educate, aware, and officially graduate from CGIU! In addition, after all of our efforts we we're one of the only few who were able to personally meet former President Clinton!

International Environmental Education Week

UCF heads out to Discovery Middle School to teach 105 sixth graders in 5 different classes about the ways I.D.E.A.S. helps students "Go Green!"
